[ IRC5108 ] Manufacturing Technician

Brief Description:

  • The Manufacturing Technician will support the build of advanced electronic systems. This will include soldering and harnessing within mechanical enclosures as well as assembly and testing in a production environment. You will perform testing of the electrical assemblies and components throughout the manufacturing process. You will be expected to provide feedback to design and manufacturing engineers regarding the manufacturability and quality of the product.

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, disassemble and test electronics and mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies for aviation applications
  • Read blueprints and execute build and test procedures on electronic, mechanical and electrical system builds
  • Author new or revised assembly work procedures and documentation as required
  • Support for prototype build and Qualification testing
  • Maintain orderliness of work area and take proper care of equipment, machinery, materials and tools
  • Ensure all modifications, deviations and updates are accurately tracked in Manufacturing shop floor
  • Implement and apply LEAN initiatives and practices
  • Other duties as assigned by line manager

Qualifications Required:

  • College degree in Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
  • 3+ years working in electrical and subsystems prototype / manufacturing environment
  • A very high level of attention to detail and the ability to produce work to an exceptional standard of accuracy
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools
  • Good verbal and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter and ability to multi-task and work under pressure

Qualifications Desired:

  • Technical capabilities including knowledge of manufacturing instructions, 2D blueprints and model drawings, etc.
  • 3+ years aerospace and/or electronic industry experience
  • Be adept at utilization and operation of general electronic test equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately deal with multiple tasks ensuring timely completion
  • Experience with basic mechanical CAD/CAM
  • Basic knowledge with IPC-A-610/J-STD-001 class 3 requirements
  • Have a sound understanding of standard industry ESD policy
  • Be proficient with lean manufacturing and related principles
  • knowledge of AS9100 requirement
  • Disciplined approach to problem solving
