
Brief Description:
- The Development Quality Assurance Engineer will independently conduct activities to ensure engineering compliance to applicable regulatory, industry, customer, and company standards, processes, and procedures with regard to product development.
- This role is responsible for leading DQA team activities in specific project/area and utilizing experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives and to have the ability to affect short-term and long-term business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing independent assurance that external standards (including governmental, industrial, and contractual) as applicable to Engineering development are met in AAM domain.
- Responsible for ensuring that internal AVIONOVA procedures, policies, and processes are followed while the System developed is the result of suitable, rigorous, structured processes enacted throughout the product lifecycle
- Conduct assessments / audits of System Engineering activities to gauge compliance with applicable regulatory, industrial, and company standards via audit, review and other methods
- Review technical documentation with a view to Quality and Compliance requirements and act as approval authority
- Generate plans and work instructions for execution of System Engineering Quality Assurance functions
- Serve as domain expert with regard to Systems/Software Engineering standards such as SAE ARP 4754, RTCA DO-297 and DO-178B
- Familiar with AS9100 standard and support certification activities
- Participate in Systems / Software level and product level interdisciplinary product development teams
- Provide regular and thorough status reports and data to the Development Quality Assurance Manager
- Ensure Quality records are maintained, metrics collected, and reports given back to the business
- Evaluate, develop, and publish quality metrics and audit results to the project team and stakeholders
- Interface with, and provide support to, regulatory authorities, customer representatives, and supplier representatives
- Conduct training to quality processes as needed to the organization or other teams
- Conduct root cause / corrective action investigations using appropriate procedures as needed
- Support continuous process improvement of DQA processes and organizational processes
- Generate and maintain objective evidence of assessment activities for customer and regulatory review
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution/university
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Aerospace development environment for Systems or Software
- Knowledge with AS9100 or equivalent
- Knowledge with SAE ARP 4754, RTCA DO-297 and DO-178
- Strong oral and written English communication skills
- Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally if required

- A thorough understanding of FAA/EASA aircraft, systems or software certification processes (TC, STC, PMA, TSO, etc.)
